I went from creating simple videos in my bedroom to more professional ones in my own home studio/office. Despite the change in setting and gadgets, one thing remained constant and that is the passion to educate and help people get from Point A to B – from being clueless to being knowledgeable.
Before I knew it, clients have been contacting me to create employee training videos for them. Even learning apps have reached out to me to help them create educational videos for their learners. To me, it’s a great opportunity to help not only the employers or companies but also learners looking to improve their skills, career, and lifestyle. Classroom training gets crowded especially when your company is trying to maximize the training period to train as many employees and learners as possible in one go. This tends to feel like a big conference or summit where the speakers won’t remember everyone in the hall.

A more personal training experience, such as mentioned above, will help your learners retain the information longer and better. Training videos can be more engaging and interactive, especially with a presenter that can make the training more human, rather than business-like.

Trust me when I say a lot of your learners won’t actually remember most of the entire discussion during the training. In turn, the trainer will have to repeat the key information to help them retain it. This adds to the time allotted for your actual training agenda. This means either you extend the training or you stay within schedule but sacrifice your training quality.
With training videos, your learners can easily take the training again at their own pace and go back to the sections they don’t understand yet. This saves you the time of running another classroom training (or Zoom training) again. With the pandemic bringing almost everybody home to work, creating and distributing online training videos is a no-brainer now. It’s definitely an essential.
Another important thing to note – since you already have the training videos, you can easily automate and scale your training processes. You no longer need to run a new classroom training every single time there is a new batch of new hires or when you need to run an update training to your tenured learners.
